Job Summary:Under supervision of the Job Site Foreman, this position is primarily responsible for safely operating construction equipment (bulldozers, backhoes, trench excavators, skid steers, etc.) that moves heavy materials, excavates gravel and earth, drives piles into the ground, or spreads and levels asphalt, concrete, and other paving material. The incumbent will be required to fill in as needed with other jobs at work site during down times (IE. Laborer). Typical schedules are Monday Friday, with weekends required as needed.Incumbent is expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:This is a description of the major responsibilities of this position. This includes but is not limited to: carrying pipe, bags of material, and other heavy items, jack hammering, shoveling, tamping, and installing pipe, duct, or cableOperate equipment of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling, and unloading of various equipment, materials, and suppliesAssist in restoring worksite at completion of daily workOperate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and proceduresLoad and unload equipment from vehicles and trailersEnsure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
