Job summary

Harsco Environmental is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for a steel/metals recovery plant. You will operate loaders, excavators, skidsteers, heavy trucks, and cranes, performing pre-start and post-inspections and documenting findings.

Responsibilities include strict adherence to safety guidelines and working effectively in outdoor environments. 1–3 years of operator experience and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years experience as equipment operator.
• Outdoor manual labor in varying weather.
• Good communications skills and ability to read instructions.
• Proactive about SAFETY and works well in a team.

Job Description

This position is responsible for day to day Heavy Equipment Operation activities at a steelmetal recovery plant. Running equipment such as loaders, excavators, skidsteer, heavy duty trucks, cranes. Duties include but not limited to:

• Performs routine mobile equipment pre start and post inspections and records activity on inspection sheets.
• Follows all plant safety guidelines for the safe operations of heavy mobile equipment.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 - 3 year’s experience as a equipment operator.
• Ability to do manual labor in an outdoor environment that may include elevated areas and extreme weather conditions.
• Good communications skills, and the ability to read operating instructions.
• Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.
