Job summary

HarscoEnvironmental operates a steel/metal recovery plant and is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to run loaders, excavators, skid steers, cranes and other heavy equipment on site. You will perform routine inspections and ensure safe, efficient operations in a demanding outdoor environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–3 years of equipment operating experience, strong communications, and a proactive safety approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years’ experience as an equipment operator.
• Ability to perform manual outdoor labor in varying weather and terrain.
• Good communication skills and the ability to read operating instructions.
• Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate loaders, excavators, skidsteer, heavy duty trucks, cranes and other mobile equipment at the recovery plant.
• Perform routine mobile equipment pre-start and post-inspections and record results on inspection sheets.
• Follow all plant safety guidelines for safe operation of heavy equipment.

Job Description

This position is responsible for day to day Heavy Equipment Operation activities at a steelmetal recovery plant. Running equipment such as loaders, excavators, skidsteer, heavy duty trucks, cranes. Duties include but not limited to:

1. A. Performs routine mobile equipment pre start and post inspections and records activity on inspection sheets.
2. B. Follows all plant safety guidelines for the safe operations of heavy mobile equipment.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 1 - 3 year’s experience as a equipment operator.
3. Ability to do manual labor in an outdoor environment that may include elevated areas and extreme weather conditions.
4. Good communications skills, and the ability to read operating instructions.
5. Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.
