Job summary

Commercial Metals (CMC) is seeking a heavy equipment maintenance mechanic to support our fabricating and manufacturing facilities. You will perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and mobile equipment, service cranes, hydraulics, and welding systems, and repair engines and electrical faults.

You must read technical diagrams and use a wide range of tools; this is an outdoors/industrial environment with varying weather.

Qualifications

• Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics, wiring and working on heavy equipment.
• Proficient reading of technical diagrams and service manuals.
• Experience with a wide variety of mechanics/hydraulics tools.
• Knowledge of bearings, power transmission, hydraulics and lubrication.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventative maintenance on vehicles and mobile equipment.
• Maintain cranes, bearings, hydraulics/pneumatics, fluid pumping systems and welding.
• Repair engines and electrical systems; service mechanical equipment.
• Document work and material usage; adhere to safety standards; work in various weather conditions.
