Job summary

Edw. C. Levy Co. in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to repair and maintain heavy-duty off-road construction equipment. The role offers career progression to Lead Man or Maintenance Manager.

You will comply with safety regulations, read schematics, use diagnostic software, and weld or fabricate as needed. Pay is $31 per hour with a competitive benefits package and tuition/student loan repayment programs.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid CDL-A preferred.
• Knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety regulations, policies, and record-keeping
• Dismantle and reassemble trucks, machines, and equipment to access problem area
• Maintain work area for safe movement and access
• Visually inspect and listen to machines to locate malfunctions
• Read schematics
• Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot malfunctions
• Weld, cut, and fabricate equipment and components
• Meet customer service expectations
