Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Sweetwater, TX is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, service, and repair heavy equipment and job-site vehicles. The role involves diagnosing with computerized test equipment and maintaining service records; work indoors and outdoors with potential overtime.

We seek 1+ year experience with haul trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, and related gear. Lifting up to 50 lbs may be required. Excellent safety and teamwork are expected.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
• Experience with heavy equipment including haul trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, skid loaders, surface miner, man baskets.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors with potential overtime.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and maintain a variety of heavy equipment.
• Inspect equipment and diagnose defects using diagnostic tools.
• Test equipment after repairs for proper performance.
• Repair and replace damaged parts.
• Schedule maintenance and keep service records.
• Keep ME shop clean and organized.
• Lift objects up to 50 lbs.
• Use computer software for record keeping and parts ordering.
