Job summary

York Building Products is seeking a Mobile Equipment Mechanic to service loaders, dozers, excavators, scrapers, backhoes, and haul trucks both indoors and outdoors.

You’ll diagnose, troubleshoot, weld, and repair, following safety procedures. Dealer training is provided to keep you current with today's equipment and technology.

Qualifications

• Has 3+ years of experience working on diesel trucks and/or heavy equipment.
• Knows their way around diesel engines, including engine overhauls.
• Can troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, transmission, and brake problems.
• Has experience with OEM diagnostic software.
• Can assess a machine by listening and diagnose the issue.
• Doesn't need supervision to complete tasks.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Has a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Is willing to work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy mobile equipment and trucks.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and keep equipment running.
• Use OEM diagnostic software to find problems and identify root causes.
• Inspect equipment and document repairs and maintenance in the CMMS system.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure safety and readiness to work.
• Prioritize repairs to minimize downtime.
• Fabricate, modify, and install parts using shop tools.
