Job summary

York Building Products is seeking a Mobile Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, repair and service diesel trucks and heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, excavators, and haul trucks. You will weld, fabricate, and install parts while following safety procedures.

Expect dealer training and hands-on work on big iron. You’ll work inside and outside in challenging conditions and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle overtime when required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working on diesel trucks and/or heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, including engine overhauls.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, transmission, and brake problems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy mobile equipment and trucks.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and keep equipment running strong.
• Use OEM diagnostic software to find problems and get to the root cause.
• Inspect equipment and document repairs and maintenance in our CMMS system.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure it's safe and ready to work.
• Prioritize repairs and stay ahead of problems to minimize downtime.
