Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains asphalt paving equipment.
• Operates and inspects equipment to diagnose defects.
• Dismantles equipment to access problem areas.
• Repairs malfunctioning hydraulic components.
• Diagnoses and corrects electrical problems.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Creates work orders and procures parts electronically.
• Performs computer diagnostics.

Skills

Knowledge of off-road heavy equipment

Knowledge of diesel engines

Knowledge of hydraulics

Knowledge of braking systems

Mechanical skills

Welding, cutting, and fabricating skills

Basic computer knowledge

Ability to read and write
