Job summary

Rogers Group, Inc. in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician to support maintenance across our quarry network.

You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on a diverse fleet of heavy equipment essential to aggregate production. The role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, safety-conscious approach, and the ability to travel to nearby quarry and plant locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with loaders, excavators, haul trucks, crushers, screens, conveyors.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, welding and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel to East Tennessee quarry/plant locations.
• MSHA certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize repair tasks.
• Physical ability to climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and around moving machinery.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and quarry machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services on mobile and stationary equipment.
• Repair and maintain engines, hydraulics, drivetrains, transmissions, brakes, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Use diagnostic tools and manuals to identify and resolve issues.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately and timely.
• Coordinate with management to schedule repairs and minimize disruptions.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency maintenance at various locations.
• Maintain tools, vehicles, and work areas in an organized manner.
• Follow all safety policies and MSHA requirements.

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations throughout our aggregate quarry network. Based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, this position will travel to nearby quarry and plant locations to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet of heavy equipment and machinery essential to aggregate production.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to workplace safety, and experience maintaining heavy construction, mining, quarry, or industrial equipment. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment reliability across multiple operations.

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and quarry machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services on mobile and stationary equipment.
• Repair and maintain components including engines, hydraulic systems, drivetrains, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Conduct equipment inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential safety concerns.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, service manuals, and computerized maintenance systems to identify and resolve issues.
• Complete work orders, equipment repair documentation, and preventative maintenance records accurately and timely.
• Coordinate with quarry management and maintenance personnel to schedule repairs and minimize operational disruptions.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance needs at various locations.
• Maintain tools, service vehicles, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and MSHA requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience working on loaders, excavators, haul trucks, crushers, screens, conveyors, and related quarry equipment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, welding, and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
• Ability to travel regularly to surrounding quarry and plant locations throughout East Tennessee.
• MSHA certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize repair and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work around moving machinery, dust, noise, and vibration common to quarry operations.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
