Job summary

CalPortland seeks a Heavy Equipment Lube Tech to perform preventative and minor repairs on gas and diesel heavy equipment, including scrapers, excavators, haul trucks, and dozers. You will inspect, service, diagnose, and perform welding as needed while maintaining accurate records and using SAP for work orders and parts.

Educational requirements include a high school diploma or GED. Candidates should be able to operate equipment and lift up to 60 lbs, work independently or on a team, and possess

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial shop environment with heavy mining equipment.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of operating vehicles and equipment for testing and troubleshooting.
• Must provide own tools; proficient with common computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Service and perform minor repairs on gas and diesel heavy equipment (scrapers, excavators, haul trucks, etc.).
• Install, remove, maintain and inspect equipment; perform diagnostics and welding as needed.
• Check and fill fluid levels, service lube points and perform preventive maintenance.
• Maintain service and maintenance records; create work orders and part orders in SAP.
• Maintain positive relationships with plant personnel and monitor warranties.
