Job summary

SA Recycling in Phenix City, AL seeks a Mobile Equipment Maintenance Manager to lead diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance for our heavy diesel-powered fleet. You will supervise a team of heavy equipment mechanics, manage parts procurement, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance in all maintenance activities.

You will coordinate with the yard GM to schedule routine and emergency maintenance, uphold budget controls, and optimize asset uptime while adhering to OSHA and environmental

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in heavy diesel-powered mobile equipment maintenance.
• 2+ years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Experience in scrap metal recycling, waste management, heavy construction, or mining environments preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of mobile hydraulics, diesel engines, heavy powertrains, welding/fabrication, and electrical diagnostics.
• Physical fitness to work outside in varied weather; able to lift and climb.
• Background check: drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for heavy mobile assets.
• Handle diagnostics and overhauls of electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and brake systems.
• Maintain and leverage CMMS to track work orders, parts, and maintenance history.
• Coordinate maintenance scheduling with the yard General Manager to minimize downtime.
