Position Scope

The Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic will perform routine maintenance as well as minor and major repairs on all equipment in the rolling stock fleet. They will be responsible for examining equipment during scheduled service to determine additional service needs.

Primary Duties

1. Perform regular scheduled service to all equipment
2. Perform major repairs when needed to the equipment
3. Document and discuss with supervisor any major repairs discovered
4. Maintain an orderly work area
5. Document all service work done to equipment
6. Supply personal tools required for the job
7. Attend additional training sessions with equipment manufacturers as needed
8. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Mechanical schooling preferred but not required; additional training provided
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a related field
• Valid Driver's License
• Good oral and written communication skills
