Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver Operator to safely drive and operate heavy equipment (>26,000 lbs) and lead crews on customer projects. You will collaborate with Field Technicians on cleanups, spills, COVID and HazMat decon tasks while maintaining strict safety practices.

The role requires a CDL B (or higher) with HazMat and Tanker endorsements, a willingness to rotate shifts, and on-call emergency coverage. Travel to service centers may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class CDL B or higher with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements.
• Ability to work a rotating shift including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• On-call availability for Emergency Response.
• May require out-of-town travel.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment with GVW >26,000 lbs (e.g., Roll-off trucks, tractor/trailers, Liquid Vacs, Turbo Vacs, Sewer Cleaners, Box Trucks).
• Ensure health and safety is the top priority by following safe work practices and policies.
• Lead crews to complete customer projects; work with Field Technicians on cleanups, spills, HazMat Decon tasks.
• Complete pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle per policy (tires, fluids, safety equipment, gauges).
• Record safety and operational data via standard reports, route/productivity sheets, and electronic logs (ELDs).
• Report safety issues and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
