This role focuses on diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy diesel equipment used in construction and similar environments. You will apply your expertise in diesel systems, hydraulics, electrical components, and mechanical assemblies to keep equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably both in the shop and in the field.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues on heavy equipment used in construction and related industries.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on heavy diesel equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Repair and overhaul diesel engines, braking systems, hydraulic systems, and related components according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble heavy equipment components.
Troubleshoot complex equipment problems by interpreting symptoms, conducting tests, and identifying root causes.
Document maintenance and repair work accurately, including parts used, labor performed, and recommendations for future service.
Operate a fully equipped service vehicle to perform field repairs and maintenance at customer or job sites as needed.
Collaborate with other technicians and team members to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion of repairs.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in the shop and in the field, including proper use of tools and equipment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring tools and equipment are stored and used properly.
At least 5 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment in construction or a similar field.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, including diagnosis, maintenance, and repair.
Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and component replacement.
Ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems on heavy equipment.
Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices for heavy diesel equipment.
Skilled in the safe use of hand tools and power tools for mechanical repair.
Experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment braking systems.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues independently.
Capability to work as a maintenance technician on production or construction equipment.
Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and adherence to repair procedures.
Background in construction equipment maintenance or similar heavy industrial environments.
Experience performing field service work using a service vehicle.
Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and customers.
Organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and prioritize tasks effectively.

This is a Permanent position based out of Post Falls, ID.
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
This is a fully onsite position in Post Falls,ID.
