Job summary

Republic Services in New York seeks a Maintenance Technician A to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, air brakes, engines, HVAC, and driveline systems. Under supervision, you will work on a single fleet with state-of-the-art equipment, supporting drivers as they run routes and service advanced vehicles.

You will diagnose multi-system issues, perform inspections, welding, and fabrication, and complete company training.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience as a technician on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform inspections without supervision.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus.
• CDL (Class B or higher) is a plus; valid license required.
• LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains advanced knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs complex repair work.
• Repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, HVAC, and engine systems.
• Diagnose engine, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, hydraulics, and aftertreatment systems.
• Use scan tools to diagnose electrical concerns and perform line maintenance, welding and fabrication.
• Complete company training programs and participate in continuous professional development.
