Job summary

Ascendance Truck Centers in Colorado is seeking a motivated, full-time Service Writer for our fast-paced service department. You will direct service personnel, delegate assignments, and respond to questions about current and future jobs, leveraging strong communication and customer service skills.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of relevant work experience, with the ability to document vehicle issues, coordinate with customers, and manage warranty guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and heavy duty truck training.
• At least one year of experience as a Service Writer.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and manage all incoming work, communicating with customers and coordinating with internal departments.
• Greet customers and obtain vehicle and customer information for repairs; contact customer and invoice.
• Write up customers’ vehicle issues and maintenance requirements clearly.
• Obtain customer signature on repair orders and provide a copy to the customer.
• Understand, communicate, and evaluate warranty guidelines, approval processes and policies during write up and repair.
• Establish payment methods, Purchase Order requirements and estimate needs at time of write up.
• Monitor progress of vehicle repairs and inform customer of status changes and promised times.
• Ensure vehicles are parked in assigned areas, keys stored securely.
• Explain completed work and charges to the customer.
• Stay up-to-date on warranty policies and product changes.
