Job summary

Republic Services in Pacheco, CA is seeking a Maintenance Shop Technician A who will perform repair and maintenance on heavy-duty diesel and non-diesel equipment. Under supervision, you will service chassis, engine, hydraulics, braking, HVAC, and electrical systems for our on-site fleet and select road-ready work.

The role requires 5–7 years of heavy-truck experience, ASE certifications a plus, and a valid driver\'s license.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1–T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL B or higher preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced repair and maintenance on chassis components, refuse bodies, engine, brakes, hydraulics, and HVAC systems.
• Diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools and perform diagnostics on aftertreatment systems.
• Line maintenance, welding and fabrication; on-site and on-road work.
• Participate in training programs and follow safety policies.
