Overview

Technician III — Transdev in Moultrie, GA is seeking an experienced Technician III to diagnose and repair commercial vehicles and equipment. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers, perform daily safety inspections, minimize reworks, and maintain production standards. The Technician III plays a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our assets.

Major Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and accurately perform all phases of vehicle repairs.
  • Remove, clean, repair, reinstall, and adjust vehicle components.
  • Engine repair and diagnosis
  • Engine emission components (State certification)
  • Driveline components
  • Electrical/electronic components
  • Brakes/suspension/steering/exhaust
  • Cab/chassis
  • Hydraulics
  • Various scan tool proficiency
  • Ensure work orders are properly completed
  • Select appropriate course of action for repairs
  • Evaluate completed work prior to release
  • Ensure safe use of power and hand-held tools
  • Perform road calls and emergency services as necessary
  • Move vehicles safely between job and work area
  • Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors
  • Actively participate in safety or educational training as required
  • Continuous ASE/ EVT recertification is required to remain in job classification
  • Other responsibilities as requested or required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) ASE certifications. New employees must earn three (3) ASE certifications within the first six (6) months, and the remaining two (2) within the first year
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL strongly preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years direct automotive repair experience
  • Experience monitoring and meeting PM schedules and operating automotive repair shop equipment
  • Appropriate mechanic’s tool set
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with superiors, peers, and subordinates
  • Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, walk, lift light and heavy objects, climb ladders/stairs/ramps or scaffolding, and use tools with manual dexterity
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, hear, reach with hands/arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and smell; may need to lay on a mechanic’s dolly to work underneath equipment
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally more than 100 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Possible exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise in heavy traffic areas
