Transdev in Capital Heights, Maryland is seeking a Heavy-Duty Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engines across transit buses and heavy trucks. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and efficiency in fleet operations.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of automotive and diesel experience, possess a mechanic’s tool set, and may hold ASE certifications. DOT drug testing applies, and company training with bonuses is available.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL preferred.
• 3–5 years of automotive and diesel transit bus or heavy truck maintenance experience.
• Possess a mechanic’s tool set.
• ASE certifications preferred; willing to participate in ASE program (training, testing, bonuses provided).
• Subject to DOT drug testing per 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose issues and determine repairs on diesel and gas engines.
• Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with team to ensure accurate repairs.
• Lead diagnostic tests and plan comprehensive repair strategies for diesel and gas engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and overhauls on diesel and gas engines.
• Other duties as required.
