Transdev in Capitol Heights, MD seeks a Light Duty Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across vehicles and equipment. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and longevity of the fleet, with an emphasis on accurate record-keeping and teamwork.

Compensation ranges from $27.00 to $33.75 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package including PTO, holidays, health coverage, and retirement plans. Candidates must have basic mechanical skills and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Intermediate mechanical aptitude and 2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Intermediate problem-solving ability.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Strong customer service skills and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs under moderate supervision including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions.
• Maintain records of maintenance work, parts used, and ensure proper work orders.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Remove and replace engine, transmission, and differential assemblies under supervision.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle repair with accuracy.
