Job summary

Transdev North America is seeking a Heavy Equipment/Truck Technician in Elkton, MD to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across our fleet. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment, ensuring safety and reliability for customers.

The role requires CDL, state inspections where applicable, and ASE certification plans. You will work under moderate supervision with a focus on quality and preventive maintenance, with opportunities for growth and skill

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred; vocational/technical vehicle repair certs favored.
Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or within 3 months of hire)
State inspection license if required
ASE Certification preferred; plan to complete 3 ASE tests within 12 months of hire
3 years of automotive or diesel repair experience or equivalent education/experience
DOT standards for motor vehicle inspections and safety must be followed
Valid driver’s license
DOT drug testing applies per 49 CFR Part 40

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair vehicles to ensure safety for customers under moderate supervision.
Service a range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles including loaders, grinders, and backhoes.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools.
Perform brake work, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drivetrains, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical repairs.
Keep accurate maintenance records and parts usage; process work orders.
Assist with PMs, safety inspections, and annual maintenance checks.
Provide road call support and emergency services as needed.
Adhere to Transdev standards and safety policies.
