Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers is seeking a Service Technician to repair and maintain our customers' Medium & Heavy-Duty Trucks, performing preventative maintenance, repairs, disassembly and reassembly, and writing detailed work notes.

You will work with parts, document all work, comply with safety regulations, and uphold Nextran's commitment to quality and service. This role offers growth across Nextran's network of dealerships.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Up to two years related experience and/or training as a Technician.
• CDL License is a plus, preferred within 1 year of hiring.
• Mathematical skills: compute rate, ratio, percent; interpret graphs.
• Reasoning ability: solve problems with limited resources and interpret instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicates with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Ensures vehicle is kept clean and notifies advisor/dispatcher of changes affecting appearance or condition.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
• Complies with federal, state, and local regulations (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know) and manufacturer bulletins.
• Operates all tools safely and reports safety issues to management.
