Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Orlando, FL is seeking a Service Technician to repair and maintain our customers’ medium and heavy‑duty trucks. You will perform preventative maintenance, disassembly/reassembly, and write detailed work notes.

Essential duties include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, documenting work, and ensuring safety compliance. This role requires 2+ years of diesel experience and a commitment to quality service in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of diesel mechanic experience.
• ASE or Cummins Engine Repair Certificate is a plus.
• English proficiency is essential for safety, customer interactions, and internal communications.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid CDL License is a plus, recommended within 1 year of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Ensures that the vehicle is kept clean. Notifies the service advisor/dispatcher immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns all tools and manuals to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Operates all tools/equipment in a safe manner and reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Other duties as assigned.
