Job summary

Saia is seeking a diesel mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on heavy trucks in Texas. The role requires at least a high school diploma, willingness to work in the United States, and the ability to provide your own tools.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, repair, and diagnostic tasks on various vehicles and equipment.
Repair and maintain systems on class 6–8 powered tractors.
Diagnose failures and repair mechanical, electrical, and system components.
Use hydraulic jacks to access underneath vehicles.
Assist in engine, transmission, differentials, and spring replacements.
Troubleshoot heavy‑duty truck engines, braking, electrical, and exhaust systems.
Document repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with partners for training and assistance on complex repairs.
Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper function.
