Job summary

Rivers Casino is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services team member to clean and sanitize casino areas, floor surfaces, and fixtures. You will operate floor care equipment, respond to service calls, and maintain high standards of safety and hygiene on the floor and back areas.

Ideal candidates will have at least one year in environmental services, strong guest relations, and the ability to work flexible hours, including holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain front-of-house and back-of-house areas to Rivers Casino standards
• Perform dry and wet mopping, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, and floor refinishing
• Clean walls, lights, vents, elevators, escalators, and windows
• Respond to and clean biohazard calls and general housekeeping requests
• Operate floor care equipment safely and maintain equipment in good condition
• Assist with setup/breakdown of stanchions and cleaning of trash cans and furniture
• Follow safety policies and report incidents promptly
• Maintain confidentiality of all information and comply with department standards
• Wear issued uniform and maintain proper hygiene

Essential Job Functions:

• The team member displays a positive attitude and enthusiasm in approaching one's daily tasks. For example, standing tall, not leaning or slouching in their work area, displayed open body language, smiling during their shift.
• Smiling when interacting with guest, saying phrases like, "excuse me may I empty that ashtray for you" or excuse me sir/ma'am is this your drink", saying "thank you"
• Team member participates in company or department events
• Team member responds to service calls.
• Team member communicates responsibly and effectively by radio to answer service calls and to make service calls to other departments.
• The team member should be willing to work outside their assigned area, if needed, to get the job done. The team member should display pride in their work, identify needs, and make suggestions for improvement.
• The team member’s responsibility is on the guest and service at all times while on the casino floor, not socializing with coworkers.
• Working in smoking and nonsmoking areas
• Responsibilities include but are not limited to dry and wet mopping surfaces, high and low dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, stripping, refinishing floors, carpet cleaning/extraction, cleaning walls, lights, vents, elevators, escalators, polishing, gum removal from surfaces, power washing, windows, etc.
• Other responsibilities include but are not limited to responding to and cleaning bio hazard calls, cleaning mirrors, doors, office areas, public areas, break areas, setting up/taking down stanchions, trash removal, cleaning trash cans, base of slot machines, furniture cleaning.
• Ability to operate various floor care equipment and maintain equipment.
• Complete all other duties as assigned to maintain the cleanliness of the casino in FOH and BOH
• The team member uses their work time to efficiently complete their assigned responsibilities.
• Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention, performing all job duties in the safest possible manner, and immediately notifying the supervisor and completing an accident report if an accident/incident does occur while performing work related duties to a guest or self.
• Follows Company, department and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Team member displays dependability in completing assignment and following through on all job responsibilities, adheres to break/lunch times.
• Maintain the strictest confidence of any and all confidential and proprietary information disclosed by a Rivers Casino entity or by a guest of Rivers Casino
• Team member should comply with all department and casino standards. Wear issued uniform, black socks, black shoes and issued black long sleeve shirt under uniform (if needed). Maintain proper hygiene.
• Proper use of chemicals, including dispensing, labeling and following chemical guidelines.
• The team member communicates in a respectful, appropriate, courteous, professional manner with guest and team members.
• Reports to work on time and shows flexibility to adjust schedule to meet demands of the department. Shows flexibility for changing hours or days off and flexibility with assigned duties. Follows call-off policy when unable to report to work.
• Respects all team members, shows willingness to learn and work together.
