Job summary

Four Winds Casino and Resort in South Bend, IN seeks a meticulous HotelHousekeeper to maintain guest room cleanliness to the highest standards. This on-site, part-time role requires physical fitness and attention to detail to ensure guest comfort and safety.

You will vacuum, dust, clean bathrooms, change linens, report maintenance needs, and follow health and safety regulations while delivering friendly service in a casino hotel environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess effective communication and organizational skills.
• Level 4 Gaming License required.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, scrub, mop, and clean carpet and flooring in guest rooms.
• Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, mirrors, curtains, and other items in guest rooms.
• Scrub and disinfect showers, toilets, and vanities; maintain bathroom cleanliness.
• Remove trash and debris; make beds with fresh linens; replenish supplies.
• Work in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner following health regulations.
• Report maintenance needs and lost and found items to supervisor.

Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for achieving and maintaining an exceptional standard of cleanliness throughout the guest rooms of the hotel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:

• Vacuums, sweeps, scrubs, mops, and cleans carpet and flooring in guest rooms.
• Dusts, brushes, polishes, cleans and vacuums furniture, glass, mirrors, curtains, framed pictures, appliances and other structural fixtures and furnishings in guest rooms.
• Scrubs, disinfects and deodorizes showers, toilets, washbasins, and other bathroom and vanity fixtures.
• Removes trash and debris from guest rooms.
• Strips beds, collects dirty linens, and makes beds with fresh linens.
• Replenishes linens, amenities and other supplies in guest rooms.
• Works in a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized manner, abiding by all health and safety regulations.
• Reports items found in guest rooms to supervisor and/or properly tags lost and found items.
• Routinely inspects guest rooms for maintenance needs, such as burned-out light bulbs, plumbing or electrical problems, carpentry needs, or other special problems, and reports it to the housekeeping office, for proper resolution.
• Takes responsibility for a “Pass Key” during assigned shift by signing out and turning in to housekeeping management at end of shift to appropriate person.
• Maintains and cleans all equipment used throughout shift.
• Replenishes linens, amenities, and other supplies in his/her work station.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess effective communication and organizational skills.

This position requires a Level 4 Gaming License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.
