Job summary

Grand Sierra Resort in Reno is seeking an experienced EVS/janitorial team member to maintain clean restrooms, public areas, and casino spaces. You will clean, sanitize, and restock supplies, ensure safety signage, and report maintenance issues.

Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends is required. Requirements include at least one year janitorial experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and knowledge of OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Clean team member restrooms, guest restrooms, and locker rooms; swab toilets and urinals.
  • Clean stalls, tile, mirrors, and metal surfaces; polish fixtures.
  • Dust and wipe lockers, vents, light fixtures, and decor; maintain neat spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum floors; remove gum and debris; restock supplies.
  • Clean casino and public areas; reposition furniture if needed; report maintenance issues.
  • Use proper safety signage; perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Clean team member restrooms, guest restrooms, and locker rooms including:
  • Swab toilets and urinals with proper chemicals - cleaning & sanitizing inside and outside of toilets & urinals.
  • Clean stall dividers/doors, wall tile, ashtrays, sink, and vanity areas.
  • Clean and polish towel/tissue dispensers, mirrors, and all metal/chrome surfaces.
  • Dust and wipe down chair/stool legs, tops/fronts/sides of lockers, air vents, baseboards, and light fixtures.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Pick up debris and remove gum from floors.
  • Refill soap, toilet paper, toilet seat covers, paper towels and other dispensing machines.
  • Clean casino, team member offices, and public area spaces:
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Dust and wipe down stools, brass/chrome tables, chairs, machine fronts, signage, wall hangings, statues, art, air vents, grills, light fixtures, ceiling fans, walls, ledges, artificial plants, and all furnishings.
  • Clean and empty ash trays and garbage receptacles.
  • Remove gum from floors and carpeted areas.
  • Use proper safety signage.
  • Report on all maintenance issues.
  • Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in all EVS equipment, chemicals, & techniques.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards.
  • Ability of simple reading, writing, math, and task completion skills is required.
  • Must have the following skills: precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, independent judgment, and decision making.
  • Flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 1 year of janitorial experience or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally sitting and constantly standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and balancing during the duration of their shift.
  • Must be able to constantly lift/carry and push/pull up to 50lbs or less.
  • The team member will have constant repetitive use of both feet and both hands. Team member will have constant light and firm/strong grasping motions. Finger dexterity of both hands will be constantly required.
  • Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work performed indoors and outdoors, alone and frequently with and around others. Team Member will perform work face-to-face including verbal contact with others on extended shifts around electrical devices.
  • Team member may have to work in confined areas, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions as well as around dirt/dust, moving objects, high places, and slippery surfaces.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud at times and possible exposure to vibrations.
  • Team Member may be exposed to fumes/odor and/or secondhand smoke.
