Job summary

Rivers Casino Portsmouth in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a dedicated cleaning team member to maintain casino cleanliness across FOH and BOH areas. Responsibilities include mopping, dusting, vacuuming, floor refinishing, carpet cleaning, and window care, with attention to safety and guest experience.

Shift is Grave, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, and the role requires ability to lift up to 30 pounds, operate powered floor machines, and obtain all necessary licensing for Virginia gaming facilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain any required licensing for Virginia gaming facilities.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls and communicate with team via radio.
• Work outside assigned areas as needed to complete tasks.
• Perform dry and wet mopping, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, refinishing floors, carpet cleaning, and general cleaning of casino surfaces and fixtures.
• Clean walls, lights, vents, elevators, escalators, windows, and other areas including biohazard response tasks as needed.
• Maintain safety and follow all company, department and regulatory policies.

Job Summary:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to dry and wet mopping surfaces, high and low dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, stripping, refinishing floors, carpet cleaning/extraction, cleaning walls, lights, vents, elevators, escalators, polishing, gum removal from surfaces, power washing, windows, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Team member responds to service calls.
• Team member communicates responsibly and effectively by radio to answer service calls and to make service calls to other departments.
• The team member will work outside their assigned area, if needed, to get the job done. The team member should display pride in their work, identify needs, and make suggestions for improvement.
• Responsibilities include but are not limited to dry and wet mopping surfaces, high and low dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, stripping, refinishing floors, carpet cleaning/extraction, cleaning walls, lights, vents, elevators, escalators, polishing, gum removal from surfaces, power washing, windows, etc.
• Other responsibilities include but are not limited to responding to and cleaning biohazard calls, cleaning mirrors, doors, office areas, public areas, break areas, setting up/taking down stanchions, trash removal, cleaning trash cans, base of slot machines, furniture cleaning.
• Complete all other duties as assigned to maintain the cleanliness of the casino in FOH and BOH.
• Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention, performing all job duties in the safest possible manner, and immediately notifying the supervisor and completing an accident report if an accident/incident does occur while performing work related duties to a guest or self.
• Follows Company, department and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Proper use of chemicals, including dispensing, labeling, and following chemical guidelines.
• The team member communicates in a respectful, appropriate, courteous, and professional manner with guest and team members.
• All other duties as assigned.

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:

• Gaming license/registration as required by the Virginia Lottery.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate and maintain a high level of courtesy with casino guests.
• Desire and willingness to learn.
• Ability to communicate with Team members and guests.
• Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week, including holidays.
• Ability to operate powered equipment, including riding floor machines.
• Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke, and dust.
