Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Horizontal Construction Engineer to operate heavy equipment, level earth for runways and roadbeds, and support construction sites. You’ll clear terrain, move materials with cranes, and assist in combat engineer missions while preparing for civilian careers.

Qualifications

• Must enlist in the Army National Guard.
• Ages 17–35 and valid high school diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a physical exam and meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Level earth for runways and roadbeds.
• Clear, excavate, and dig construction sites.
• Spread fill material and move heavy materials with equipment.
• Transport heavy construction gear with a tractor-trailer.
• Assist in combat engineer missions.
