Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager in planning and daily execution of a heavy civils construction project in California. You will help manage the project schedule, submittal approvals, materials delivery, and budget control.

The role emphasizes proactive administration of submittals, coordination with subcontractors, site quality checks, progress reporting, and close-out documentation, with heavy civils experience preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 3 to 6 years of construction experience preferred.
• Heavy Civils construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist project management by proactively managing the project budget by controlling expenses, administering owner and subcontractor billings, and identifying work not covered by subcontractor’s scope.
• Coordinate submittal data and shop drawings to ensure project schedules are expedited and materials are delivered on time.
• Conduct preconstruction meetings with subcontractors and assist the Project Manager and/or Superintendent.
• Attend meetings with Engineer and owner representatives and assist in progress reports/meeting minutes and change proposal requests.
• Update and coordinate all clarifications, changes, directives, RFIs, and as-built drawings with supervision and subcontractors.
