Job summary

American Civil Constructors West Coast (ACCW) in Benicia, CA seeks a Project Manager I or II to lead heavy civil infrastructure projects from contract strategy through field execution. The role requires discipline, risk management and strong Excel skills, with Primavera P6 preferred.

The position involves site travel across the US, day/night crew coordination, and a competitive compensation package depending on experience and level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management. Other majors may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
• 3–5 years of construction‑related experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of construction‑related experience for Project Manager II. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Contract management from the standpoint of identifying potential change orders, changes in scope, changes in field conditions, changes in ability to perform as bid with means and methods.
• Managing subcontractor and vendor relationships including identifying and mitigating potential risk exposure and cost overrun exposure
• Maintain accurate cost accounting, accurate schedule impacts, accurate and fully authorized change order logs, and accurate and updated communication logs
• Coordinating & supervising varying work schedules (for day/night work) and crew mobilizations from job to job
• Working closely with project owners, prime contractors, inspectors, field engineers, field superintendents and subcontractors/suppliers as needed to successfully complete our construction projects
• Other duties as assigned
