Posillico Civil, Inc. is seeking a Construction Laborer to support heavy civil infrastructure and transportation projects in the Richmond, VA region. The role reports to a Project Superintendent/Lead Foreman and requires working outdoors in varied weather conditions.

The position emphasizes personal safety, adherence to SSHASP, and teamwork with foremen and skilled trades. Candidates should be able to travel regionally and obtain credentials for restricted sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in heavy construction (civil infrastructure, roads, bridges, cast‑in‑place concrete, and underground utility systems).
• Capable of independent work while maintaining communication with foreman for real‑time decision‑making.
• Strong planning and problem‑solving skills.
• Physically dexterous and able to lift heavy materials safely (50–75 lbs).
• Able to obtain TWIC, DBIDs, or other credentials requiring a background check for access to restricted sites.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment and secure work areas in compliance with safety regulations.
• Clear and prepare construction sites by removing debris, obstacles, and potential hazards.
• Hand dig pits, trenches, and foundations to support building activities.
• Backfill trenches and pits, and maintain a clean, organized job site.
• Assist welders, carpenters, painters, operators, and other skilled trades as required.
• Direct traffic around construction zones to ensure safety for crew and public.
