Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking Horizontal Construction Engineers to operate bulldozers, roadgraders, and other heavy equipment to clear construction sites. You will level earth for runways and roadbeds, excavate and move materials, and support combat engineer missions.

You will learn equipment maintenance, soil identification, and construction techniques while earning a paycheck and benefiting from tuition assistance through the Guard.

Qualifications

• Must be enlistee in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com for details).

Responsibilities

• Analyze the information on grade stakes and placing them.
• Cut and spread fill material with scraper.
