The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in Pasco, Washington. This full-time position requires proficiency in various HVAC tools and the ability to work flexible hours. The ideal candidate has completed an apprenticeship program and has at least three years of experience in the field.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting HVAC systems, performing repairs on plumbing and refrigeration, and comprehensively documenting work performed. Candidates must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and demonstrate safety awareness and attention to detail in their work.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; operate personal computer with general understanding of application software; ability to learn office and college‑specific software.
Design Skills: Generate creative solutions; translate concepts and information into images; use feedback to modify designs; apply design principles; demonstrate attention to detail; use automated monitoring and control systems; estimate time and materials; use arc and gas welding equipment.
Safety and Security: Observe safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly; knowledge and observance of principles of operational hazards and safety practices of HVAC trade.
Quality: Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality; apply feedback to improve performance; monitor own work to ensure quality.

This position is a full‑time, overtime‑eligible, classified staff position. The schedule after the training period will be Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, must be available to work a flexible schedule when prior notice is given by the College. This position is available immediately.
Prior to a new hire, a background check, including criminal record history, will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
