Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Rockaway, NJ is seeking a Heat Treat Helper to assist in the Heat Treat department. The role supports the shift lead with hardening or tempering metal objects and requires good eye-hand coordination and basic math skills.

Prior manufacturing experience is a plus, and overtime/weekend availability is expected. Responsibilities include loading/unloading parts, quenching in baths, TPM maintenance, following supervisor instructions, and reporting discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Able to speak, read and write instructions in English.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Be available to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
• Be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalency or equivalent years of manufacturing experience.
• Environment with temperature swings (hot or cold).
• Thursday - Sunday, 5am - 5pm.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and verify quantity of parts per work order and instructions.
• Quench heated parts in oil or water baths.
• Perform maintenance (TPM) on equipment.
• Follow verbal and written instructions from supervision.
• Report heat treat discrepancies to lead.
• Some judgement required for following instructions and procedures.
• Assist in multiple departments as needed.
• Basic math for addition, subtraction, and time calculations.
