Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Sr Associate Patient Coordinator for the Heart & Vascular team in Omaha. In this role you will obtain and coordinate medical records, schedule patients, and support referrals and procedures to ensure timely, accurate patient care.

You will interact with patients, physician offices and hospital staff while maintaining high standards of customer service, accuracy and efficiency. A strong knowledge of medical terminology and teamwork is essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare customer service environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated analytical, prioritizing and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and handle medical records by communicating with patients, physician offices, hospitals and other organizations to create accurate patient charts.
• Coordinate patient referrals to designated clinical programs and services with a team.
• Register and schedule patients in a customer-service oriented, efficient manner.
• Complete complex scheduling of multiple appointments and/or services.
• Provide clerical support related to scheduling and coordination of services and procedures.
• Provide administrative support to all team members in clinic, surgical and procedural areas.
