Job summary

Rising Ground in Brooklyn seeks a dedicated RAPP Community Educator to deliver engaging workshops on healthy relationships and gender-based violence prevention in schools and communities.

The Educator will co-plan and facilitate workshops for students, parents, and staff, help expand the program to additional NYC sites, and collaborate closely with school partners and the RAPP team. Immediate start, full-time position in Brooklyn.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years demonstrated group facilitation experience (Required).
• College Degree (Preferred).
• Experience developing and facilitating workshops.
• Deep understanding of intimate partner violence and adolescent development.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Clear commitment to anti-oppressive, healing-centered approaches.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a flexible environment.
• College degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Education, Public Health) (Preferred).
• Experience working in NYC schools or community-based organizations (Preferred).
• Familiarity with NYC DOE programming and support systems (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate interactive student workshops and peer groups focused on relationship abuse prevention and related issues.
• Develop and deliver trainings for school staff, parents, and community members.
• Create and revise curriculum tailored to adolescents and educational environments.
• Build strong partnerships with school staff; coordinate training schedules and resources.
• Provide appropriate community referrals for students seeking additional support.
• Actively participate in weekly team meetings and planning sessions.
• Complete administrative reports and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Support and co-lead Summer Peer Leadership Program.
• Conduct outreach to new schools and organizations for program expansion.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the RAPP Program Supervisor.
