Job summary

Rising Ground invites applications for a RAPP Community Educator in Brooklyn. The role involves delivering engaging workshops on healthy relationships, gender-based violence, and related topics, in multiple schools and community settings.

The Educator will facilitate student and parent workshops, train staff, and co-plan the Summer Peer Leadership Program, with paths to strong community partnerships and program expansion opportunities in NYC. Immediate start for a full-time position.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated group facilitation experience.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience developing and facilitating workshops.
  • Deep understanding of intimate partner violence and adolescent development.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Clear commitment to anti-oppressive, healing-centered approaches.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a flexible environment.
  • College degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Education, Public Health) (Preferred)
  • Experience working in NYC schools or community-based organizations (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with NYC DOE programming and support systems (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate interactive student workshops and peer groups focused on relationship abuse prevention, gender-based violence, and related issues
  • Develop and deliver dynamic trainings for school staff, parents, and community members
  • Create and revise curriculum tailored to adolescents and educational environments
  • Build strong partnerships with school staff; coordinate training schedules and resources
  • Provide appropriate community referrals for students seeking additional support
  • Actively participate in weekly team meetings and planning sessions
  • Complete administrative reports and documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support and co-lead Summer Peer Leadership Program
  • Conduct outreach to new schools and organizations for program expansion
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the RAPP Program Supervisor

Role Overview

Rising Ground’s Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP) seeks a skilled and passionate Educator to deliver engaging, impactful programming around healthy relationships, gender-based violence, and relationship abuse. The Educator facilitates student workshops, parent workshops, and staff trainings in approximately 8 schools during the school year. The Educator co-plans and facilitates the Rising Ground summer Peer Leadership program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate interactive student workshops and peer groups focused on relationship abuse prevention, gender-based violence, and related issues
  • Develop and deliver dynamic trainings for school staff, parents, and community members

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday in the greater Brooklyn area, Friday’s virtually or in Company Hub location. Work hours options are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm with flexibility for workshop hours.
