Job summary

Baystate Noble Hospital is seeking a Unit Clerk to support patient flow, documentation and unit operations. You will act as a receptionist, assist the charge nurse, and coordinate with nurses, physicians and ancillary departments to ensure timely admissions and discharges.

The role requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospital environment. On-site work with standard full-time hours is expected.

Qualifications

• Previous clerical and customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills.
• Effective communication with staff, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Bed management and admissions coordination with nursing and support staff.
• Accurate use of hospital IT systems to document and retrieve patient information.
• Relay messages, coordinate departmental communications and handle routine inquiries.
• Greet patients and families, orient them to the unit, and manage visitor flow.
• Prepare and organize patient charts for transfers, discharges and billing.
