Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Staff Development Specialist II at Broughton Hospital to design and deliver training programs for staff across the facility.

You will manage calendars, create materials, and coordinate LMS-based trainings, CPI and CPR certifications, and ensure completion tracking. The role requires collaboration with hospital administration and adherence to state policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of training development experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Documented experience creating training and/or educational materials
• Documented experience teaching adult learners
• Experience teaching in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Experience creating training videos

Responsibilities

• Preparing and developing training programs, plans, schedules, annual calendars, and materials.
• Identifying training and development objectives
• Assisting participants with NC Learning Management System (LMS) training registrations
• Providing direct classroom instruction and evaluating and revising programs as needed
• Documenting training completion in several databases
• Conducting training needs assessments to determine training needs
• Obtaining and maintaining Instructor certification for required trainings
• Creating and maintaining training content (lesson plans, presentations, tests)
• Creating annual training calendars and scheduling classes in LMS
• Delivering training face-to-face or online as needed
• Conducting and analyzing evaluations on training classes
• Administering eMerge (Epic) SNOW training tickets
• Serving on hospital committees and work groups
