The Veterans Health Administration within the Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Telecommunications Operator to perform routine information services, route callers, and manage a complex telephone system at the VA Maryland Health Care System.

You will set up and monitor bridge-line calls, maintain reference materials, and provide staff information and extensions details as part of a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Competenze

• Transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing qualifications on education.
• If you are using foreign education, you must provide a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript.

• Provides information of a routine nature, and directs callers to the appropriate area.
• Operates telephone system to receive incoming and outgoing calls using complex equipment and software.
• Set up, monitors, and sends confirmations for bridge-line conference calls.
• Maintains operation manuals, reference books, and instructions for programs used in the Telecommunications unit.
• Furnishes information to customers concerning telephone extensions, staff information.
• Work Schedule: Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
