Job summary

Advocate Health’s 7-week Summer Internship Program offers high school students aged 16+ a hands-on introduction to healthcare. The on-site internship runs from 6/14/2027 to 7/30/2027 and provides meaningful work while fostering connections with fellow interns and staff.

Interns may rotate through clinical, administrative, operational and support functions, participate in educational activities, observations and projects, and develop foundational workplace skills in a structured learning

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in high school and aged 16+ before the start of the internship.
• Demonstrated interest in exploring health care careers.
• Computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Intern participates in a structured, hands-on learning experience introducing high school students to healthcare careers and day-to-day operations of a hospital or health system.
• Students may rotate through or support a variety of departments, gaining exposure to clinical, administrative, operational, and support functions.
• Under guidance and supervision of hospital team members, interns will participate in educational activities, observational experiences, and assigned projects while developing foundational workplace and professional skills.
