Job summary

Riverside Health System in Newport News, VA is seeking a Staffing Coordinator for the Float Pool to support nurse managers and practice managers with scheduling, timekeeping, and staffing needs.

You will handle daily staff requests across facilities, maintain master schedules, monitor overtime, and assist with orientation and training materials, demonstrating a service mindset and commitment to quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree in related field preferred.
• 1 year patient care or customer service experience required.
• 1 year administrative healthcare experience with staff coordination, scheduling and timekeeping preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing and scheduling for the department using critical thinking.
• Communicate scheduling needs with unit managers and office managers.
• Receive daily staff requests and fill them based on highest need.
• Prepare and maintain master schedules; monitor overtime and cost centers.
• Assist with orientation materials and general department needs.
