Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to provide staffing and scheduling support for assigned departments. You will collaborate with the CNO and department leadership to align schedules with staff availability, meet posting deadlines, and optimize staffing to balance productivity and costs.

You will monitor real-time staffing, participate in position control meetings, forecast needs to avoid emergencies, review agency requests, update VMS orders, and reconcile invoices

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills required.
• Experience in healthcare preferred, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide staffing and scheduling support for assigned departments.
• Meet posting deadlines according to hospital policy or CBA and optimize staffing.
• Monitor real-time staffing and adjust for PTO, sick leave, or unexpected gaps.
• Review and approve agency personnel requests and reconcile VMS invoices with Finance.
• Forecast staffing needs to prevent emergencies.
