Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to provide staffing and scheduling support for assigned departments. You will collaborate with the CNO and department leadership to craft schedules, meet posting deadlines, and optimize staffing for cost efficiency.

Responsibilities include real-time adjustments, agency coordination, and forecasting to prevent staffing emergencies, with a full-time, day shift. The role emphasizes strong communication and healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills required.
• Experience in healthcare preferred, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Staffing and scheduling support for assigned departments.
• Collaborate with CNO and Department Leadership to create and revise schedules.
• Meet schedule posting deadlines per hospital policy or CBA.
• Schedule staff productively and cost-effectively using staffing strategies.
• Evaluate daily staffing and replace personnel due to PTO, sick leave, or absences.
• Obtain daily staffing needs from departments and adjust in real-time.
• Participate in position control meetings with C-Suite to review schedules.
• Forecast staffing needs to avoid emergencies.
