Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a Sous Chef in Birmingham, AL. You will supervise and assist in preparing food items, develop menus, and help order supplies under the direction of the Executive Chef to support high-volume healthcare dining operations.

The role emphasizes strong culinary leadership, willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs, and familiarity with modern foodservice practices. ServSafe certification is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience required.
• Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience preferred.
• Catering experience a plus.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience desirable.
• Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful.
• Knowledge of food/catering trends; focus on quality, sanitation, cost controls, presentation.
• Must be experienced with computers; include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet access.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Executive Chef with cost controls and expenditures for the account.
• Assists the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus.
• Produces and executes catering events.
• Rolls out new culinary programs with Company marketing and culinary team.
