Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin seeks a Security Officer Leader to oversee patrolling and securing CW facilities, grounds, and personnel. You will assign posts, interpret policies, train staff, and direct security operations during emergencies, ensuring timely response and safe environments for patients and visitors.

Preferred candidates have at least three years in security, healthcare experience, and certifications in DAAT/DTS and IAHSS. A BLS certificate and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; read/write incident reports.
• Post-high-school coursework in criminal justice or related field preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage and lead security staff in healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.

Responsibilities

• Leads and oversees security staff patrolling CW facilities and grounds.
• Plans schedules to ensure adequate security coverage in supervisor's absence.
• Trains staff and escalates performance issues as needed.
• Responds to emergencies via hospital lines and directs emergency personnel.
• Coordinates shift scheduling to ensure at least one Security Leader on duty.
• Investigates incidents and writes detailed reports; interviews victims, witnesses, and suspects.
