Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin is seeking a Security Leader to oversee security personnel, patrols, and incident response across hospital facilities and grounds. You will guide shift operations, ensure safety, and uphold compliance with hospital policies.

The role requires prior healthcare security leadership, DAAT/IAHSS certifications, and a strong track record in protecting patients, staff, and visitors during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school equivalency required; additional criminal justice coursework preferred.
• Minimum three years of security experience; leadership in healthcare security preferred.
• Certifications in DAAT and IAHSS are strongly preferred within specified timelines.
• Ability to read and write incident reports and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Leads and reviews security staff work to provide coverage in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Plans schedules and assigns posts; adjusts for emergencies or unusual incidents.
• Trains staff and escalates performance issues to Supervisor when necessary.
• Assists Security Dispatchers and directs personnel to perform security assignments.
• Monitors cameras and alarm systems; responds to intercom/elevator calls promptly and professionally.
• Coordinates shift scheduling with Security Leaders to ensure coverage at all times.
• Participates in emergency exercises and liaises with law enforcement as needed.
