Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC seeks a Director of Risk Management to guide the hospital's risk strategies and ensure regulatory compliance and ethical standards. You will lead risk identification, avoidance, and mitigation, collaborating with executives, clinicians, and staff to implement robust risk solutions.

The role requires a nursing background with NM RN licensure, 5+ years of nursing experience including 3+ years in a director/manager capacity, and familiarity with healthcare risk management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school.
• NM RN license is required.
• Minimum 5 years nursing experience with at least 3 years in a director/manager role.
• Experience in healthcare risk management.
• CPHRM certification preferred or required within three years.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall risk management program and mitigation efforts.
• Collaborate with leadership, clinicians, and staff on risk solutions.
• Manage investigations, interviews, and legal documentation related to litigation.
• Provide risk management training and incident reporting guidance.
• Advise on informed consent, documentation standards, and disclosure practices.
• Oversee professional and general liability and property insurance policies.
• Serve as the Compliance and Ethics Officer for the facility.
